Courting Attempts -MHR CotW Event
The spring brings with itself new life, or so it is said by the elders, and the reverberations of this echoed through the Pack camp as well. Most, if not all of the monsters were in various stages of frenzy, which caused their handlers quite a bit of issue and headache despite their best efforts to avoid this, opting instead to minimize the damage by providing adequate nesting materials for them to busy them in that rather than in competing and potentially cause fights between them or the surrounding wild and domestic monsters. And among this mess of tails, ribbons and tidbits, someone went missing. A young, mild tempered Mordevaoras, who usually kept to his corner happy to simply sit and help incubate eggs or babysit hatchlings, used this expectation of his good behavior to sneak out. Being so soft and baby inclined, the instinct to find a potential mate was quite strong in him and as such he had made up his mind to do exactly that.... Not that he exactly knew how. He will, he

New years, new challenges - MHR Tournament
It hasn't been a long while since the last combat mission they went on that the news of the new tournament spread and Trapper, being the excitable ball of 80% fluff that they are, immediately went to sign up and set preparations. Of course, with Empress by their side, hopping over to the town and back was about as easy as clapping hands together, and the tournament staff only needed to lay eyes on the harnessed seltas once to start preparing the paperwork, including the altered script terms and conditions provided to them by Handler, for the young and eager grimalkyne to sign. The rest was just harness preparations... "Whoa she's pretty." The grimalkyne remarks as the two monsters enter the arena, watching from as close as they could physically get on the handler's lodge as the two monsters enter the arena. They had never seen an anteka this blue and icy-like, though they can deduce that, like Empress, they were probably ice shifted. The sheer size also didn't escape their notice

First (and hasty) pickings 4 - MHR Quest
The quest giver seemed to be even more riled up as she exited the tunnel once more, hooting and howling and jumping so much that Howl herself had struggled to keep herself contained. Her rider always said she should not be too loud or jumpy on an official job after all. Yet, when they learned in on the jaggia, coiling one arm around her in a very 'buddy buddy' manner almost as if to prompt her to celebrate as well, she couldn't but give in, just a little, by throwing her head back and letting out a long, loud and high pitched howl she was named after.... How much the adventurer appreciated that is up for debate. Celebrations done and over with, the adventurer rubbed their hands together, took a moment to prepare, and took off. Much like previous times, Howl waited patiently for the sounds of the other to disappear into the cavern before taking off herself. Thanks to her thick belly fur, sliding around didn't really bring her all that much discomfort cold wise, though her feet did

As the footsteps of the reckless Adventurer became less and less noticeable and faded into the icy cavern, Howl's body got giddier and giddier to have another go at the slip and slide. Still, she waited for a little bit to make sure she wouldn't accidentally bump into the other and crash, before taking a leaping step into the cave herself, the ice ringing out and cracking under her claws that in turn tried their best to not have her slip before the actual incline, though once the first hints of it appeared, the jaggia simply threw herself on her belly and let the weight carry her down the slope. The incline, from this end, was a little more visible as the light very faintly filtered into the large cavern and outlined the edges, allowing her to better find footholds to further boost her sliding capabilities. She almost felt like a mizutsune, sliding around on belly fur soaked with, in this case, Ice water and using her limbs to propel herself further. Every time she did so, the cavern

Angry Anjanaths 2 - MHR Quest
Empress skidded to the side into singed undergrowth, his four armored limbs tilling up dirt and ash underneath as he was flung to the side. The anjanath flared up it's rear sails and nose, licks of flame dancing along it's maw as it roared at them. Trapper, from up on the harness, could feel their neopteran beginning to become shaky on his legs, already loading up a repellant she'll into their light bowgun. Thankfully, the brute wyvern decided against pressing further, turning tail instead and running, and giving the two time to recuperate. The seltas dropped on his belly as soon as the coast was clear, all six limbs splaying out as if he has been hit and squished against the ground. The grimalkyne, in turn, let go of the bowgun almost immediately after to hop down and check up on his injuries. Thankfully enough, other than the part for the course scratches in his exoskeleton, Empress wasn't particularly harmed, though he was clearly exhausted of jumping around and dodging the much

To outdo a Trickster 2 - MHR Quest
The two continued to collect various herbs and other interested kitchen additives for quite some time, the deaf felyne more than a little vigilant still for the appearance of the Jester, but it seemed like he either was not here, or did not so easily bite. It was to be expected of a trickster dragon, of course, but it did sadden Chef a little that he could not have some fun at his expense while still doing other things. Poison was also more than a little excited to come face to face with the chameleons again, but it seems the mischief maker didn't plan on it any time soon. Then again, they both have been exceptionally vigilant for him during their forage, and it's very likely that the trickster had picked up on the fact and didn't want to come close as a result. Giving his pukei pukei a deep sigh, the pale lynian transitioned to plan B almost seamlessly. Perhaps if the chameleos didn't want to come to them due to their vigilance, it woul come for an unaccompanied bag of treats someone

Rock climbing is an extreme sport, but in this case it was also an extremely slow sport. Of course, both Riot and Trader were more than aware as to why their employer took such time, a single mistake could cause them to dangle off of a string after all, but it nonetheless meant that the monster and his rider had little to nothing to do other than descend painfully slowly down the cliff face. The hypnocatrice was first to openly voice his discontent in his typical annoyed bird fashion, but the melynx quickly tried to hush him as to not appear rude. "Your bird's getting impatient, isn't he?" The rock climber chuckled, seemingly more amused at this turn of events than anything. "Makes sense. He's used to just flying everywhere, so this must be incredibly tedious to him." They sounded quite out of breath but very cheery and enthusiastic as well. Trader gave them an amused chuckle in return. "Riot tends to fuss about a lot of things. Hence the name." This made their employer chuckle even

The light refracted vividly against the ice in the caves, providing light deeply into the caves and making her run somewhat easier. Of course, the jaggia couldn't run as fast as she'd like, as the ice under her feet and the lack of ability to not make it slippery meant she had to be mindful of her footing lest she slip and fall over her head, and that wasn't really the point now was it? Thankfully the tunnel was mostly straight forward for now, no inclines or declines in sight, though the sight was slowly beginning to become an issue. As the tunnel opened up into a cavernous expanse, Howl had to squint to see anything at all, so she began leaning onto her hearing a little bit more, which brought a curious sound to her attention. It sounded like an odd sort of ice cracking, but it wasn't just the regular sort of cave ice cracking under it's own weight sort of noise. No... Lumberjack's Business 2 - MHR Quest
The large stack of lumber tumbled down like a cascading waterfall at what felt like the slightest of touches from the fluffy brute wyvern. The Men at the sawmill scrambled to get away, running each whichever way seemed a quickest escape at the moment. Crasher, having been used to creating utter chaos and commotion, did not get much spooked by this, backing up quickly in a mostly successful attempt to stop most of the runaway batch from creating too much damage to the rest of the sawmill, causing the logs to hit her body and pile up to her side instead. The few that had somehow managed to get past her got stopped by the nearby building, dealing damage but not nearly as much as the entire load would. To say the workers were less than pleased would be an understatement. They grumbled between each other as the dust settled and they surveyed the precarious situation the banbaro was in, propping up a whole lot of cut logs, unable to move without risking letting them loose. There was silver
